Hypnosis is a trance-like mental state in which people experience increased attention, concentration, and suggestibility. While hypnosis is often described as a sleep-like state, it is better expressed as a state of focused attention, heightened suggestibility, and vivid fantasies.
Hypnosis is ALL self hypnosis. There is nothing anyone can do to force hypnosis. The client has to have to ability to follow instructions to go into a trance state themselves.
Hypnosis is NOT sleep
it's not unconsciousness
you're not being controlled by someone else or lose self control, you can break trance whenever you like.
It's NOT brainwashing
Humans have four basic states of awareness corresponding to four identifiable brain-wave patterns:
In hypnosis the brain enters the alpha (light hypnosis) and theta (deep hypnosis) states, and one is highly focused on hypnotic suggestions and imagery while suspending the ordinary thinking processes of the beta state. In the alpha and theta states, hypnotic suggestions are integrated into the mind more easily, and memories become more accessible.
Hypnosis has been used in the treatment of pain; depression; anxiety and phobias; stress; weight loss; habit disorders including smoking, alcohol and drug; gastro-intestinal disorders; skin conditions; post-surgical recovery; relief from nausea and vomiting; childbirth; treatment of haemophilia and many other conditions. However, it may not be useful for all psychological and/or medical problems or for all patients or clients. The decision to use hypnosis as an adjunct to treatment should only be made in consultation with a qualified health care provider who has been trained in the use and limitations of clinical hypnosis. In addition to its use in clinical settings, hypnosis is used in research and forensic settings. Researchers study the value of hypnosis in the treatment of physical and psychological problems and examine the impact of hypnosis on sensation, perception, learning and memory. hypnosis for weight loss
I run 3 day Hypnotherapist certification training that is Internationally recognised. Contact me for more information.
Will this work for me? Hypnosis is not for everyone, however majority of people get great results from it. If you're able to follow instructions, this is for you.
How many sessions will I need? That depends what we're treating. Sometimes we will be treating one thing and as that problem disappears another problem may arise that was buried deeply.
Why do I have to do tasking before the Quit Smoking hypnotherapy session? Tasking is a part of most of my sessions, however for smoking it sets up for you to succeed. If you don't do the tasking, it's unlikely you'll be successful at quitting. I'm setting you up for success not failure.
Why does weight loss come in a package?
People who want to lose weight need to be held accountable. The package includes us following up with you for 12 weeks. This includes weekly catch-ups, affirmations, exercises and nutrition ideas as well as your hypnotherapy. This package will change the way you think moving forward and lead you to a healthier lifestyle.
Can I use NDIS funding? If you have a self managed NDIS account, then yes NDIS should cover you. I am not sure what their rebates are, you may have to check to see how much you're allocated.
